1. Bloodletting/Raktamokshana
It is the prime process of blood detoxification. It is the therapy which includes inducing controlled bleeding from specific areas by the means of leech therapy, cupping or superficial small incisions, as per the requirement of body and disease. It’s a therapeutic clean up method given by Ayurveda for blood cleansing and purification.
It is one of the essential elements of the Panchakarma healing treatments. It’s derived from the two words, “Rakt”, which means blood and “Mokshana”, which means leave. Thus, Rakta mokshana means that to let the blood out.
It is recommended when the disease is caused by blood pooling and irritation out of it. The blood is expelled out from the body to reduce the quantity of toxic substances within the blood borne disorders.
It is a safe and essential part of the treatment protocol for patients with increased Pitta dosha or Rakta(Blood) or mixing of excess Pitta into the blood which is chronic or doesn’t respond to gentler interventions. So Individuals with Increased and unbalanced blood (rakt) and Pitta dosha (fire body tumor) and high level of toxicity are recommended the Bloodletting Ayurveda Treatment. It also is useful for specific Vata- and Kapha-related conditions.
It is even advised in the healthy individuals during Pitta vitiated conditions especially during october heat ( i.e. Sharad Rutu as per Indian culture ).

The word Agnikarma(Thermal Cautery) means the application of Agni (heat). The Agnikarma (Thermal Cautery) involves a procedure whereby heat is transferred to the affected parts of the body using the metal Shalaka(metal rod) ( Suvarna Shalaka , saptdhatu shalaka) in an aseptic manner.
